PACTT at Imaginary Landscape

December 17, 2011 3:13 p.m.

For the past five years, Imaginary Landscape has been working with PACTT, a Chicago-based not-for-profit agency serving individuals with autism and their families.  Once a week, through PACTT Vocational Services, we are joined by either Matt Herbstritt or Jae Yoon Ham to help us around the office.

PACTT recently featured Imaginary in their newsletter:

On the Job at Imaginary Landscape

Most of the time, Imaginary Landscape remains a quietly active workplace. Keyboards clack constantly in every part of the open office space, website designers consult with colleagues around them and with clients on the phone. But on at least one ...

Chicago startup helps Imaginary provide better service

May 11, 2011 1:50 p.m.

We were happy to see the May 9, 2011 profile of Ifbyphone Inc. in Crain's Chicago Business.  Ifbyphone is a Chicago-based startup created to bring big phone system features to small companies.

Imaginary Landscape has been a customer of Ifbyphone since 2009.  The service allows us to provide callers a choice of different voicemail boxes and have specific actions tied with each box.

As a small technology firm, we do not staff 24 hours a day.  However, we wanted to make sure that our clients could contact us during off hours.  Before Ifbyphone, this was no simple nor affordable ...

Crain's Chicago Business list of Web developers

July 21, 2010 3:17 p.m.

This week, Crain's Chicago Business published their list of Chicago Web developers and Imaginary Landscape is there, one of 52 companies.  Already, I've begun receiving congratulations.

I'm reticent to say that the list isn't a "Top Web Developers" list, but just a directory.  The cover charge for making the print list is, "Offices in the 6-county area with more than 5 full-time consultants."

There is an online version of the list with 80 companies.  It seems there is no 5 full-time consultant minimum to make the online version as there are several with one employee.

Times ...

Choose your Tweets (and landlord) wisely

July 29, 2009 10:45 a.m.

According to a Chicago Sun-Times article this week, a renter named Amanda Bonnen tweeted some trash talk about her landlord:

"Who said sleeping in a moldy apartment was bad for you? Horizon realty thinks it’s okay."

This was mixed with an unremarkable stream of tweets that included:

"All of these people eating McDonalds is making me want to hurl."
"I can tell I'm on the right flight for fort meyers, the average age tends to be about 70."
"We may not win games, but we ALWAYS win at drinking and looking damn good."

Mashable did a story that ...

A case study in the value of Twitter

April 23, 2009 10:52 a.m.

I get asked a lot about this Twitter thing. What is it, they ask. I say it is a microblogging platform, which mostly elicits blank stares. I go on to describe it in more detail, how people "Tweet" about what they're doing in short bursts. Most look quizzically, wondering why anyone would be interested in knowing when someone is blow drying their hair or eating a burrito the size of their forearm (no, really. I saw the Twitpic).

Mostly I agree that the content on Twitter is drivel. But not today.

I started today by taking the Metra commuter ...
