The Chenille Kraft Company, distributor of educational games and craft materials, wanted to inject some fun into their website. Looking to appeal to parents and educators with children in mind, the site needed to be bright and interactive. The homepage features a colorful slideshow, and hotspots for trivia quizzes, project packages and featured products.

This is the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center

The Wilfred R Cameron Wellness Center has a lot going on.  They wanted a site that reflected all their activities with limited vertical scrolling.  Furthermore, they wanted a site full of motivational energy consistent with their mission of improving the lives of adults who want to maintain their fitness, health and overall well-being.

  • Multi-column "accordion" flyover menuing for Classes

This is the Illinois Music Educators Association

The IMEA is the largest fine arts education association in Illinois and among the largest in the United States.  Its mission is to promote lifelong music learning and to provide leadership for music education.  The website was old and needed an aesthetic and structural overhaul.

This is RadiologyInfo.org

This public information site provides a great depth of information on the often-complex medical procedures involving radiology.  In response to our usability study, the navigation structure was clarified and streamlined to support a variety of navigational approaches. The top horizontal bar, which gets the highest amount of eye-tracking traffic, was used to present the primary approaches to the procedural information.  The left column - a secondary focus of eye-tracking traffic - was used to provide links of secondary importance, including a highlighted search box and organizational links.

Analysis indicated that a significant number of the site’s visitors used older browsers and systems with 800 x 600 screen resolution, so it was important to keep the design cleanly functional within those boundaries.

This is Trinity Health System

Trinity Health System wanted to make their site easier to use. In order to accomplish this goal, we streamlined the navigation and set direct links to the most important features within the site. In addition, we instituted a more formal structure for the homepage content which made it easier to distinguish one feature from another.

The softened colors are easier on the eye while staying within their established identity palate. The increased type size addresses the needs of the site's predominantly older users.

This is Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System

Sarah Bush Lincoln is a comprehensive provider of health care services in rural Illinois.  Its previous website was old and did not accurately reflect the innovation and care that makes it a state-of-the-art facility.  The website needed a significant overhaul so that it could highlight its specialties and allow visitors multiple ways to interact.

  • Fixed background image allowing the page to float over it.
  • Transparent elements highlighting the float.
  • Clear call-to-action opportunities to encourage conversions.
  • Tabbed homepage content to accommodate more information.
