A Partner that Knows Hospitals and Health Care
Imaginary Landscape offers significant benefits to your hospital or health care organization including:
Understanding
Whether your organization is a hospital, health care system or other health care facility, the Imaginary Landscape team of hospital experts guides you through the process of Web sites.
Longevity
Our clients have been with us for years. We are into our second decade as the Web vendor of record for Advocate Healthcare. This longevity runs throughout our client list. It is disruptive and expensive to change vendors - that's why longevity is so important.
Expertise
Imaginary Landscape has been creating health care Web sites since the beginning of the Web. It is a core practice area for us and one where we have developed a significant expertise.
Keeping Dr. Wells Happy
For example, we already know that Dr. Wells will not appreciate that Dr. Anderson always appears first when someone searches the online physician directory for cardiologists. That's why we randomize physician names when site visitors search for a specialty. It's a small thing, but something that might help to avoid a "conversation" with a purple-faced, screaming cardiologist (disclaimer: any resemblance to an actual cardiologist is purely coincidental).
Helping Justify the Investment
Imaginary Landscape has spent significant time assisting hospitals and health care organizations in calculating a credible return on investment for Web expenditures. We've pioneered an approach that will allow hospitals to predict online revenue based upon site visitors. We've presented at the Internet Healthcare Conference and been featured in eHealthcare Strategy and Trends. For more information, read our brief entitled, A Predictive Model for Calculating Web-based Revenue from a First Appointment Request System.
HIPAA Compliance: Business Associate Policies
Last updated: June 2, 2005
It is the policy of Imaginary Landscape to comply with the standards and guidelines set forth by the United States Department of Health & Human Services, Office of Civil Rights, that govern the obligations and activities of HIPAA Business Associates.
General Business Associate Policies of Imaginary Landscape
- We do not use or disclose Protected Health Information other than as permitted or required by a business associate agreement with our client or as Required By Law.
- We use reasonable and appropriate safeguards to prevent use or disclosure of PHI other than as provided for by an agreement with our client.
- We will report to our client any use or disclosure of PHI not provided for by an agreement with our client of which we become aware.
- We will require contractors or agents to whom we provide PHI to agree to the same restrictions and conditions that apply to us pursuant to an agreement with our client.
- We will make available to the Secretary of HHS our internal practices, books and records relating to the Use and Disclosure of PHI for purposes of determining our client’s compliance with the Privacy Rule, subject to any applicable legal privileges.
- We will respond in a timely fashion to any written requests from our client to provide access to, or make amendments to, any PHI in a Designated Record Set in our possession.
General Precautionary Procedures of Imaginary Landscape
- We do not access or disclose PHI unless requested by our client or directed by law. In almost all cases any such access of PHI by us is used strictly in support of the software itself, as in a request to investigate a reported software-related problem. At those times, access is restricted to necessary personnel only and test data is used whenever possible.
- We employ encryption methods to safeguard data while in transport and while stored on one of our servers. Transport covers both the collection and the delivery of data.
Specific Safeguarding Actions Employed by Imaginary Landscape
- Data transport encryption is accomplished through the utilization of SSL technology.
- While a dataset containing PHI is in the care of Imaginary Landscape, select fields are stored encrypted to prevent associating sensitive information to a specific individual.
- Access to PHI through the Web application, no matter if for viewing or editing, requires an individual user account and password. Group and role accounts are not acceptable.
- All access to PHI via the Web application is logged.
