CHICAGO – It was early 2009 when Good News Publishing approached Imaginary Landscape for assistance with their ecommerce website  Since that time, Imaginary and Good News staff have been working together to make the Crossway site a world-class destination for online spiritual materials.

Products available on the Crossway site include memberships, books, bibles – notably its popular ESV Study Bible – tracts, software and other related products.  This year, Crossway announced that 1 million copies of the ESV Study Bible had been sold and distributed worldwide.

“They approached us because their site is constructed in the Django web development framework, which is Imaginary’s specialty,” said Brian Moloney, managing partner for Imaginary Landscape.  “Since that time both technical teams have worked together to deliver comprehensive ecommerce functionality on the site.”

Imaginary has assisted the Crossway team in integrating significant functionality including international shipping, third-party fulfillment, a specialized bible picking application, Haystack site search, discounts and promotions, electronic distribution, membership and virtual bookshelf technology as well as  important user interface improvements.

“Imaginary has been a wonderful web development partner for Crossway,” said Josh Dennis, senior vice president of design for Good News Publishing.  “Certainly their Django expertise is important but their general website knowledge has been a great help in the planning and execution of our digital strategy.”
